Nina Simone: Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood

Our last Black History song of the day is Nina Simone's Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood, which is a song so touching and personal that it makes you hear your nondescript heart murmur. It is often characterized as a song that portrays the Civil Rights movement that much of her material of the time reflected upon. It is a powerful and soulful ballad that has been remade by quite a few artists, yet, none of them stands up next to the the original. The song was recorded for her 1964 album Broadway-Blues-Ballads album.
